Voicefall is push-to-talk: press and hold the key to talk, release to insert. Hold Right Option on Mac or Right Alt on Windows while you speak, then let go. There's no button to click and no window to switch to — it works wherever your cursor is.
While you're holding the key and speaking, a "🎤 Listening…" indicator appears at the bottom of the screen so you know it's recording. In the menu bar, the 🎤 icon shows how many trial days you have left.
Voicefall inserts text by placing it on the clipboard and pasting it (⌘V on Mac / Ctrl V on Windows) at your cursor. If no input field is focused, the paste lands nowhere — but your text is not lost. It stays on the clipboard, so you can click into any field and paste it manually with ⌘V (Mac) or Ctrl V (Windows) wherever you want.
One caveat: Voicefall does not restore your previous clipboard contents — each transcription overwrites whatever was on your clipboard. This is deliberate, so your spoken text is never lost.
